Tivoli Gardens is well known as the second-oldest amusement park that is still in operation in the entire world. It opened its doors in 1843, and it still brings joy, wonder, and fun to visitors, even after 177 years. How to get to Tivoli Gardens
Getting to Tivoli is quite easy. The the park is located in the center of Copenhagen, just a few meters away from Copenhagen Central Station. You can either access the park by bus, train or metro.
Getting to Tivoli Gardens from the Copehagen airport will take you around 15 minutes if you decide to do it by train, or 30 minutes if you decide to do it by bus/car.

You can either book your tickets directly in the official Tivoli Gardens website or from an official ticket reseller like Tiqets.
Another option is to buy your tickets at the entrance of the park but this is not recommended as rates can be higher and queues can be also long. In any case, it is highly advised to book your tickets in advance.

You can’t leave Tivoli Gardens without jumping on Rutschebanen, the park’s famous wooden roller coaster dating back to 1914.
However, for real adventure seekers, The Demon roller coaster is a must. The ride lasts for just under two minutes, and it features a zero-G roll and two loops. There is even a virtual reality option, where you can fly through ancient mythical China to make the ride even more immersive and memorable!
Furthermore, the Star Flyer will bring butterflies in your stomach, while you’ll be sitting in a chair and spinning, 80 meters high.
There are many rides for kids, including The Start Tower, The Elf Train, and The Lighthouse air carousel, to mention but a few.
Other activities to check out
A trip to Tivoli Gardens wouldn’t be complete without some fascinating live performances that rival the park’s rides. The Pantomime Theater is free and is an entertaining theatrical experience for both children and adults. Some other notable experiences are the Tivoli Aquarium and the Amusement Arcades. Just keep in mind that these do have an extra cost.

From mid-May to early September, the Tivoli Festival features a diverse variety of events and performances, including operas and symphony concerts. If you are more of a rock’n’roll type, there is even a Friday Rock concert once a week.
